Odisha, on the northern part of India’s east coast, has a couple of famous beachside towns, although the beaches, as with most places on the east coast are not always safe for swimming.

Bhubaneshwar - Puri
You’ll be met on arrival at Bhubaneshwar airport (flights service the capital of Odisha from many airports around India) and depart immediately for the 2-hour drive to Puri. Settle in on arrival and relax with a walk on Puri’s famous beach. Overnight in Puri
Puri – Chilika – Gopalpur On Sea
Head down the coast to Chilika Lake, the largest brackish-water lake in Asia, covering over 1100 square kilometres. Take a boat ride on the lake, with luck spotting the endangered Irrawaddy dolphins of which there is a decent population here. Continue on to Gopalpur-on-sea

A full day here to visit fishing villages and other places of interest nearby, as well as time on this long stretch of golden sand beach. Overnight at Gopalpur-on-sea

Drive back to Bhubaneswar (around 5 hours) and fly to the start of your next sector of travel, or international departure point.
