Junagadh is one of the most historic towns in Gujarat. Sitting in the shadow of Uprakot Fort, the town has some wonderful examples of Indo-Islamic architecture such as the Maqbaras in the centre of the Old City, while the Fort itself has ancient Buddhist caves and elaborate step wells.
