An island in the shape of ‘Om’ which is one of the 12 Jyothirlinga Temples of Lord Shiva is Omkareshwar in the banks of Narmada River, Madhya Pradesh. The place where Mother Cauvery meets the sacred Narmada is a serene location where devotees of Lord Shiva pile up to praise Mahadeva.

How to reach Gangotri?

By Air : Nearest airport is Jolly Grant in Dehradun, (26 km from Rishikesh) and nearest international airport is Delhi (513km). You can reach Gangotri from Dehradun by taxis.

By Rail : Nearest railhead is at Rishikesh. It is very well connected with all the major cities in India.

By Bus : Samyukt Rotaion Yatayat Vyawastha Samiti bus services works to connect Gangotri with many pilgrim centers in the region such as Rishikesh, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Haridwar etc.
