The tea museum houses the growth and genesis of the tea plantation in the Idukki district of Kerala.The museum displays the photographs, machineries and other showcases that explain the history of the flourishing tea plantation in the Idukki district. Visitors can also witness the process of tea from when it is harvested, crushed, torn, curled and powdered to finally become a liquid drink.

The museum is closed on all Mondays and during the celebration of Good Friday. The museum is open on all other days from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm. The months of March to May offer a good time to visit the museum.
