This temple is one among the oldest temples in Kerala. The brass cravings on the walls and wooden roof of the temple are a sight for the eyes. This temple is an architectural marvel that has blend wood and laterite.
History
The Tali temple was a temple which belonged to 50 Namboothiri families and during the invasion of the Zamorin, the temple was taken by them and those who opposed them were executed. The legend goes that Lord Parasuram, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, worshipped Lord Shiva at this place. There are also many stories told of the curses and rivalry in relation to the temple.
Timings
The temple functions between 5:00 AM - 12:00 PM and between 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM.
Dress code
No specific dress code is recommended for a visit to this temple. Still, costumes covering upper arms and legs are suggested as a mark of respect to the temple customs.
Festivals
Revathi Pattathanam is an important festival celebrated in this temple. It is said that this festival was started by the Zamorin king as a penance for killing the Namboothiris. This festival marks the celebration of learning and letters.
